If you are interested in making a positive impact on the lives of Virginia’s youth, then we want you to become part of our Team!  Rural Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility seeks positive role models to work directly with adolescents in a residential program.  Applicants must possess the ability to be supportive while setting firm limits.  The Youth Service Worker is responsible for role-modeling healthy behavior, maintaining professional boundaries, teaching life skills, administering a behavior modification program (points & levels system), leading youth in and participating in social/cultural activities, recreational activities, and educational activities.  This position supervises youth in the residential unit and on off-campus activities and appointments.

Compensation package includes 401(k) retirement plan & employer sponsored health, dental, & life insurance.    EOE.  Positions opened until filled.

Description:
The Program Manager, PPIA will manage the programs and activities of the Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Fellowship Program, a major initiative to foster diversity and leadership in public service. The Program Manager is the main contact for the PPIA National Office and will work with the PPIA Board of Directors to lead the important work of the organization. The Program Manager serves as the primary individual responsible for strategic communication, outreach, administration and event planning. This individual will provide services to a wide array of constituents including a consortium of over 30 graduate programs, PPIA alumni, prospective applicants, and other key partners. The incumbent will recruit applicants for the Fellowship program, develop and update website content, strengthen alumni and external relations, as well as assist with strategic planning and development for the organization.


Educational Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree is required. A Master’s degree related to public policy/administration, or non-profit management is preferred.


Minimum Requirements:
Desired qualifications include strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at every level within the university and with external sponsors. The ability to develop and encourage working groups that are dedicated to reviewing specific issues and solving problems is also required. The incumbent must be highly motivated, organized, flexible, and able to multi-task and have a demonstrated aptitude for critical and analytical thought, and project conceptualization.


Preferred Requirements:
3 years of nonprofit administrative experience with a high level of individual responsibility for programs and activities are preferred. Knowledge of the fields of public policy/administration and non-profit management is preferred. Experience with diversity issues in higher education, especially at the programmatic level, is preferred. Website development skills are a plus.

The Assistant Counselor for the Academic Support Program for Student-Athletes provides academic support services to student-athletes. The Assistant Counselor assists student-athletes with routine academic skills, such as organization, time management, and general study habits. More complex issues, such as NCAA eligibility, academic integrity, or transfer to other schools are referred to the assistant director, under whose direct supervision this position works. The position is located in the Department of Athletics, while also maintaining records in the Academic Support Center. This is a 35-hour, 9-month position.


Educational Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree is required.


Minimum Requirements:
- Teaching, tutoring, or counseling experience
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills


Preferred Requirements:
- Familiarity with NCAA regulations pertaining to academic eligibility
- Personal experience as a student-athlete
- Experience working in a college environment
